This shows how good interior and/or exterior design came from multiple locations! A stone fireplace was illuminated with soft lights, with a complimentary bookshelf next to it. In one scene, the living room in Allie’s house can be seen in the background. An eye-catching design choice was how arches outlined the shelves, an element that isn’t often found. Neil’s library also featured wood, as seen in bookshelves covering the walls. The living room boasted a large wood fireplace paired beautifully with green marble. Dark wood was a consistent component of each room shown in the movie. Impressive interior designs added to the grand scale that is also shown on the house’s exterior. This is certainly one of the most photogenic houses shown in a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film! The exterior was pale yellow Victorian, complete with a wrap around porch. The interior and exterior design: In some scenes, Neil Kahn’s house was featured on screen. This is evident in the scene where she and Neil are having an argument about their personal lives. ![]() Speaking of Neil, I also enjoyed seeing April Telek’s performance! Throughout the film, her portrayal of Neil’s wife was very natural. Because Neil is a director of mystery stories, this is a different yet interesting creative choice when it comes to acting. While this is true, Willie made this part of his character consistent. Another note-worthy performance was Willie Aames’! As one of the characters said in this movie, Neil Kahn was “mild-mannered”. The look of shock on his face truly appeared genuine. A good example is when Noah discovers Maya has figured out the password on his laptop. What I liked about his performance was how lively and expressive it was. One came from series regular, Trezzo Mahoro, who portrayed Allie’s friend Noah. However, there were some stand-out performances I’d like to bring up. The acting: In Picture Perfect Mysteries: Exit, Stage Death, the acting ranged from fine to good. In the end, ‘Exit, Stage Death’ is fun if you’re into mysteries.Picture Perfect Mysteries: Exit, Stage Deathposter created by Crown Media Family Networks and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The mystery is reminiscent of another from Hallmark, but the characters are fun and quiet though it is, I quite like how this one ends it’s a nice tie in to a thread throughout the film. If you’ve liked the prior movies in this franchise, like anything from the ‘Movies & Mysteries’ banner, you’ll find this one fun. It’s a solid base for them to (perhaps) become more in the future, and it’s one that’s being handled well, whether this is because of the actors or writing, or a combination of both. I also appreciate that the writers are building (so far) more of a friendship than a would-be romance between Allie and Sam. ![]() They seem most at “ease” together in this franchise (which sounds odd to say). Of the films I’ve seen Alexa and Carlos in, I think these characters suit them best. Of course, the mystery of the plot is also a fun thing to try and puzzle out! This Picture Perfect Mysteries franchise is one of its newer ones, but what makes them unique is the fact that it features married co-stars. There are quite a few Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series at this point, and so far, they seem to continue to grow with more rumored to be in development stages. This time, he learns Allie is a witness to who may be the murderer, which soon puts her life in potential danger! TV FILM REVIEW | Return to the Favorite Vineyard with ‘Ships in the Night,’ a Hallmark Mystery A newer resident and friend of Allie’s, Sam is always curious as to how Allie just happens to always be at crime scenes. This brings the local police to the play including Detective Sam Acosta (Carlos PenaVega). Only, later Allie then finds the leading lady dead in the costume room. ![]() Things seem to be going well with expectation of the leading lady running late, everything looks to go off. A play Allie is also supporting because her best friend is a part of the cast. Her latest job takes photographer Allie Adams (Alexa PenaVega) backstage as the photographer of a local play.
